That is a very good point and has factored into our feasibility study for this line.
Close communication with the adjacent land owners will be an important part of our operation if we move ahead. Ensuring the safety of our riders and their enjoyment of the experience is obviously a priority.
The spray used to control vegetation on the rail corridor in NY is non-toxic within 8 hours. We were able to co-ordinate with NY DOT (who take care of the spraying) to ensure that spraying happened on a day we were not running, and that our next-day tours were outside of the potentially dangerous period.
Building positive relationships with the farmers and understanding their needs will be critical in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
