I can believe it. Especially during the construction of Dworshak Dam when the P&L was hauling in fly ash to the dam site over the line. I am old enough to remember when BN spent a good deal of money upgrading the entire P&L line during the late '70's in anticipation of all that unit grain train traffic that would head down to the new barge ports in the Lewiston area. BN even built a couple of new sidings in Pullman just north of the Stadium Way crossing.
Then for some reason circa 1980 they did a complete 180, embargoed the line from Moscow to Arrow, and tore out the new sidings.
Hard to understand that depth of illogic. The loss of the Lewiston connection was a real tragedy for area transportation interests, and still is today.
