On 4/21/1974 UP's then 8444 laid over that night at Hinkle OR.
8444 was enroute from Omaha to Spokane with the "World's Fair Flag Special".
EXPO74 was a World Fair held for 6 months in Spokane WA.
8444 was on display at this fair.

Anyhow, UP GP30 844 showed up that evening at Hinkle.
Here is a picture of the two together.
The good folks at Boulder City have a copy of this picture.

Here is another picture of the "World's Fair Flag Special" train
along the Columbia river. Notice the flatcar behind 8444
with state flags for all the states between Omaha and Spokane.

Fast forward to 5/14/2007.

Here is the current holder of UP 8444, a SD70ACE,at UP's Brooklyn yard in Portland OR.
The Brooklyn roundhouse was the home of SP 4449 for many years.
