Even after TCS was installed, Stonehurst was an automatic interlocking (as was Radum and Lyoth). I've heard that automatic interlockings aren't supposed to exist within CTC/TCS, but in thses cases they did. (Some years ago, I had an Amtrak rules instructor flatly tell me it was "impossible" for automatic interlockings to exist within CTC/TCS, and discounted my assertion that I had personal experience with such situations.) I've always assumed that it was a case of WP avoiding the expense of replacing these when TCS was installed.
Here's my question--was the SP/WP crossing at Oak Street ever signalled? In my time, there were just gates, with derails on the SP side, the WP being unsignalled at that point.
