An SP switching lead departed their main track at Oak Street, curved northeastwardly, and crossed the WP at M.P. 7.2, which was 50-100 yards east of Oak Street. The station name was "OAK ST. (SP X'ing)" in the WP timetable. WP was the superior railroad. As Craig mentioned, it was protected by gates (and on the SP, derails). SP served a warehouse that was just north of the crossing. The track was still there until at least the Eighties, and was switched by yard jobs out of the East Oakland Yard (I remember doing it on the afternoon shift).
