Short answer is no. Both the Port of Long Beach and the Port of Los Angeles are the main import ports for California while Port of Oakland is considered the export port. That's because 90% of all containerships from Asia arrive at the Southern California ports first then proceed to the Port of Oakland before returning to Asia. It's been that way for a long, long time. The bigger containerships are skewing the numbers at Oakland, plus summer and fall is considered their busy season. They were way down earlier in the year, so they have no real reason to boast. I doubt its a trend and a good friend of mine in the logistics end of the marine industry agrees.
