The ICC Abandonment Application is dated 3/3/1964, but I don't see an Approval date listed.
I was born in Pasadena in 1953, and vividly remember seeing the local powered by Tiger Striped switchers in the early Sixties. Charlie Wherry mentioned in a post on TO's that he caught the job off the Fireman's Extra Board in '63 or '64. I thought I remembered seeing cars at the team track up near Green Street and at the cold storage place down near Glenarm as late as '66 or '67, but maybe not.
The Southern Pacific In Los Angeles book might have more information.
