caltrain did run a test train down
the monterey branch, years ago and
consensus was the branch had to be
rebuilt, and that was just to the
northern city limits, going
back into monterey proper was deemed
unfeasible, due to urbanization and
tourists, in addition the yellow
elephant wanted to 2mt plus sidings
