Where do you get this bull$#it that "the engineer took no action" from?
Do you know that for a fact?
Where is that reported anywhere?
Were you actually there, in the cab, witnessing this fiendish deliberate act by the engineer?
Or, do you also have some mysterious secret powers to see these things from your "visions", too?
If I had big-holed my train for every car or truck a mile ahead that was still fowling the track, that later cleared, I'd still be out on the road, trying to complete my first road trip.
And, if I hadn't plugged it, or made a reduction to stop, when I saw and knew that the idiots who were running the gates, or fowling the track, were not going to move in time, then I'd have been fired, for failure to take appropriate and required action.
Sleeping with his eyes open, having just closed the doors at the station and pulled out from a standing stop (at which point he was still apparently still "conscious"?) at 10 in the morning, on a passenger run, is a very interesting conjecture, but rather unlikely.
We'll all know the facts of this case soon enough, without having to pull bull$#it straight out of our asses, and creating bizarre conspiracy theories about trial lawyers.
But for some of the usual suspects, why wait for, or be confused by, actual facts?
