Forgot ... The Press (The Media) respond most to CONFLICT. Conflict is of two main types: real and manufactured. Real conflict has real-world consequences and tends toward the Tragedy end of the spectrum for coverage. Manufactured conflict is done, most often, to get attention and tends toward the Press Release end of the spectrum. But without Conflict it's pretty hard to get Media attention.
