There are 535 elected individuals currently serving terms of elected office back in D.C. There are a handfull of members of both chambers of the legislative branch who are actually worth more than a (small) pool of spit on the sidewalk. The rest are complete morons--whose re-election campaign begins the day after they are seated. They say some of he most idiotic things that have ever been uttered in the history of this planet--but they bring home the pork for their constituents.....and the folks send them back. This is because "it's everybody else's elected idiot that is the problem". Harry Reid is the current leader of one chamber and the Honorable Grandmother from San Francisco is the speaker of the other. These folks are deserving holders of their chairs because they were duly elected by the majority party members of their respective chambers of thugs and idiots. In the recent past, there have been different holders of these offices. These were elected by a different pack of thugs and idiots who just happen to come from a different side of the center aisle of their respective chamber. This leadership position changes every so often when Party "A" promises the most and best "free" stuff to the masses and vows to "clean up the wreckage" left by the other group. When the masses decide that the new guys in charge have provided no such change, they will reverse and put Party "B" back in charge. This usually takes enough time that the members of the "ruling" party have served enough terms to have secured lucrative lifelong pensions upon their defeats as well as allowing them to gain enough familiarity with D.C. and the REAL powerba$e that a well-paying lobbyist position will be available.

Our greed imprisons us to this cycle. The populace has been dumbed-down enough to accept lies as truth--just keep away from my stuff and leave me alone. Now, where's my remote?????
