I think I just saw that Davidson is retiring on another site and the UP is lending the Rio Grande heritige unit to the Ski Train to pitch in for their temporarliy OOS F40. Don't know if either of these events change opinions.
And I'm not actually qualified to speak to the management style of either railroad, but I do believe that a deal is a deal and your signature on a contract or your word in a agreement must be kept. When UP agreed to give Amtrak priority, even if it was done in 1971 just to get rid of the passenger trains themselves, they made an agreement, and if it's okay to go back on your agreements just because you get a better deal, or money, from some other source, than there's no honesty or inegrity left in this world.
I also think that the Union Pacific steam program is one of the greatest things going.
