There are some of you whom apparently have taken my comments on this issue out of context and instead of providing thoughful and meaningful discussion have instead decided to take my commentary and use it as a means to personally attack me as a scapegoat to unfairly dismiss those arguments because you would rather not deal with them and make a bunch of untrue assertions of innuindo such as that I would rather fire the whole UP Steam Crew and get rid of that program entirely which is nonsense. As a matter of fact the UP should change its attitude and allow for more Steam Excursions and others in addition to allowing other famous Steam Locomotives i.e. like the SP 4449, SPS 700, ATSF 3751, The Royal Hudson and maybe the Pere Marquis on their rails as I believe they are better locomotives that Diesels especially for railfan trips and develop a public relations training program for their employees to foster positive relations as well. Unfortunately, all railroads apparently have a few "Bad Apples" in their workforce although most of the UP Steam Crew doesen't fit into that category but maybe one or two do with Steve Lee personally being excluded from that one or two.
And to the last writer my questions never where "moronic" and I used all caps at the head of the postings for a good reason is that it is the "Bulletin Heading Style" that is commonly used but to accomodate the late Altamont Press Robin Carlson's advice I quit using them.
Nope I am just a foamer and a railfan and have been one since I was five (5) years old and have made numberous observations of railroading since I was that age.
On the other hand to those that have offered thoughful discussion on this issue I say thank you.
