Western Maryland Scenic Railroad is restoring C&O 1309. That group and their talented CMO, Dan P, parted ways back in February 2015. It's a nice big locomotive. But my heart is with the hometown kid -- NP 924.

Stathi was awesome for NWRM because he uses traditional methods to preserve the craft of steam loco maintenance, which also preserves the authenticity of the artifact. Other guys out there will weld the staybolts rather than thread them the traditional way. I hope NWRM is careful in who they choose to handle the 924 next.
