You have to admit Ukiah to Willits would make an interesting dinner train/tourist ride. It has the scenery, museum destination and the Skunk.....and it's not that far from the Bay Area.
As for the north end, most of the scenery and interesting ride is south of Fortuna to South Fork. With Scotia Bluff to fix and maintain, that will never happen. Around the Bay in the overcast at 10 mph you'd need that banjo player from the Skunk plus "Martin the Wizard" and plenty of booze to keep everyone entertained....while enjoying that "farmed salmon" dinner.
