I spent a bit of time in Eureka recently. Once one gets away from the 101 corridor, Eureka is a beautiful, pleasant place. I see why people want to live there, and why they grasp at straws such as "We could be a major port, the lumber industry could blossom (without the automated mills),..." I understand the motivation behind the unrealistic proposals, but they still are unrealistic.
