I would add to Sam's excellent message that to say "the Governor should be doing something about the POTB railroad" is premature. We don't yet have the long awaited consultants report on the condition and what needs to be fixed. Without this information, how could the Governor or anyone else for that matter move ahead. It is my understanding that the State of Oregon is funding the consultant study.

I for one am a strong supporter of the Governor's Connect Oregon program. The two years of Connect Oregon projects have, in my opinion, been excellent investments in Oregon's transportation infracture. I applaud the Governor's leadership in getting this program moving. Almost makes me want to play the lottery (that is what is funding the Connect Oregon bonds).

Let's hope that we have a Connect Oregon III.
