Let us not forget that a second Golden Gate Bridge was to be built via Angel Island. So the idea of Bart to Marin was not impossible. Since BART is running the Caltrains to Sacramento, don't be surprised if they end up running SMART and connecting to the city by way of NWR right of way to Sausalito. Depends on the price of gas.
