So, most of the 1970s time period is kind of a black hole in a lot of NWP literature, at least what I have. The new NWP book might have something, but I don't have a copy of it as of yet.

That being said...Page 133 of Family Trees, Simpson's Centennial Story, features a picture of the recently completed Crown-Simpson Pulp Company mill at Fairhaven, in all likelihood taken very shortly after the mill entered operation in 1966. Clearly visible in the photo are at least twelve of the SP "yellow stripe" boxcars.

I honestly cannot say how much rail traffic the two paper mills ever generated, by the time the Eureka Southern came into existence in 1984 they were not rail shippers. That being said, in the early 2000s the remaining plant trucked some pulp to the McCloud Railway reload in McCloud, but that did not last long.
