Sorry, forgot about the gila monster. But the modern WP&Y locomotives were inside frame clearly by management choice. Perhaps they did not care too much about the outside frame K-28 470's the Rio Grande gave up to them during the war. IIRC the Rio Grande did not want them back either and they were shipped to Seattle to scrap. And of course there were the inside frame WPB design locomotives which were originally supposed to be meter gauge for Iran that ended up in Alaska at the same time. Did not one of those go to No. Carolina?
