I just sat through eight hours of meetings with the brain trust of an eighty million dollar per
year client of ours and I can verify without hesitation that business isn't fun anymore. If steam
was responsible for some substantial attraction to the GCRY I can pretty much promise it would
have been kept running. The point of the trip is A) ride behind steam or B) take a train to the
canyon. Most people come because of B), sad fact. On the other hand C&TS would be nothing behind
a diesel (been there, done that, other than the concern of whether or not we were going to make
it to the top of the hill). Business by and large has lost any feeling of sentiment replaced by
the drive of profit.
