I rode the second section on June 12th, '08 and enjoyed every minute of it. The whole crew of employees from the hotel, gift shops, restaurants and train crew did a great job! You could tell they enjoyed doing the jobs they did. Everyone on the train went way overboard to help, answer questions and make the trip enjoyable. I went for the steam! My oldest daughter went for the train because "Dad" likes trains! My wife wants to go back for the train! She won't if it isn't running or isn't kept up. Santa Fe made its trains a show piece and took pride in their passenger trains. The crew in June did likewise. If the goal is to do as little as can and take the public for all you can without delivering.. then that doesn't live up to the GCRy or the AT&SF tradition! Let's pray that the powers above don't let this great ride go down the drain!
