In todays Whitman County Gazette (www.wcgazette.com) a front page story tells of the BNSF providing 110 car grain trains complete with power to the grain shippers on the P&L segment of the WSDOT owned railroad operated by the Washington and Idaho Railway. Service is expected to begin later this fall, though it sounds like it will be mostly to Oakesdale. There is some concern about the ability of big BNSF power to get over a couple of bridges on the line, so time will tell what motive power actually gets used.
