While impeachment is possible, on account of it being a power assigned to the House, a trial is less likely because of the bought and paid for, GOP-controlled Senate. Don't forget that the GOP-controlled House voted to impeach Clinton. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I doesn't matter whether "most americans" don't want birthright citizendhip, it's in the 14th Amdendemnt, Article I:
"All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside . . . "
Now before you go around weeping and wailing, flapping your gums, and carping about me being a "socialist snowflake", as you are wont to do, I prefer the New Zealand method: a newborn doesn't get birthright citizenship unless at least one of its parents has established permanent residency or the baby would be stateless (father unknown, non-resident mother dies in childbirth).
Amending the Consitution is a very difficult process, deliberately so. The most recent, the 27th took, 202 years to be retified. "Mr Hutch 7.62 have you ever read the Consitution?"
