> The Marin attitude is worse than you describe.

Indeed, you are right - how bad it is, is indescribable actually!

You are also right that greedy real estate developers and their shills at city hall are an issue. But at least they have been providing an important social need in return for their ill gotten booty - that of places to live for the hoards that kept immigrating to California.

Much more problematic however, is the natural conflict between NIMBY / extremist environmental restrictions on housing; and the laws of supply and demand. With the resultant short supply in Caliphonia in particular , the extreme unbalance between housing supply and housing demand, attracted speculators, who then ran the price over the moon.

When they got scared that the "bubble was about to burst", they yanked their money out too fast, actually causing it to burst. Of course, what they escaped with went into petroleum futures. Now that market is also festered with the same environmental NIMBY extremism restrictions as well, so those prices went over the moon as well.

That no economy on earth has ever survived such undisciplined and panicky non-sense should be no surprise. That many post-depression regulations to prevent this bull were repealed in 1977 and the rest in 1999 should tell us who is to blame - the same damn politicians supporting the NYMBYs and environmental extremists did it.

Is it really a surprise that all these things have worked together to destroy our free enterprise system - to literally NUKE it! - all starting right there in in the one party state of Caliphonyia.

It did not surprise me one bit! -- In fact, I have warned and warned about it - after it forced me to leave the state in order to even eat! But alas, this Caliphonia Poison has gotten out of pandora's box and has now got the whole free world in a panic.

The NWP is now the least of our worries - just as I predicted. But enough; I've still got a job here to go to - for a while at least.

I owe, I owe - So off to work I go . . . .
