After reading all the comments I think it is time to remind people of one important thing:

Most of the people who are adamantly opposed to CAHSR are Republicans, but most of the people that the citizens prefer to elect here are of the Democratic persuasion. Why are people surprised at the results?

The Republicans thought that putting a proposition on the ballot to lower the gas tax would win them the election. The electorate stomped all over that proposition and, for good measure, over their candidates as well.

If anyone here has a good idea they should talk to their representatives. Either they will add something useful to the conversation or they will be educated by those they elect. Otherwise it is just a debating society of the (mainly) superannuated. Still, it is fun to read some of the sillier comments. Lets me know that at least I'm not senile.
