David,
Wow, so you can use The Google too. Oh, and go back and read part 3 of the definition you quoted. Fitting, isn't it?
As for stating a counterhypothesis, I never disagreed with that part of what you said. I own stock in two railroad companies, partly FOR their reliance on coal as a source of revenue; I feel that our best route to energy independance (and, possibly, lower CO2 emissions) will come from industry innovation led by market forces, not government fiat. A major public-private investment in nuclear power will likely be a must if this country/society wants to continue to enjoy the general level of prosperity -- basically, energy consumption - that it does.
I'll even meet you partway and say that yes, I think a lot of the CO2/climate change rhetoric is doing little or nothing to furthur finding a solution to the problem. Wading through the BS can be awfully difficult.
I just get tired of reading even mostly correct ramblings prefaced with divisive, authoritarian comments from people who feel their OPINIONS should be treated as FACTS by the rest of us poor peons, who apparently are unable to draw our own conclusions.
Thanks,
Alex M.
