Doc Jones is right... train chasing isn't fun any more

On the subject of shooting 4014 at Hermosa tunnels, everyone is saying what a risky idea it is. You will either have the UP lock you out, the state sherriff give you a $1000 ticket, or the local rancher point a rifle at you.
Sounds like a great time, huh?
The last time I went to see the UP 844 in Everett, WA, I saw some BNSF MOW employees gathered along the tracks. I stopped the car and politely asked if I could watch the 844 pass by with them. The railroad jerk said "No" and walked away. Damn, why do people have to be such jerks on what is supposed to be a fun-for-all event? Well f. u. railroad employee! At least I went to college and made something of myself.
Seems to me, Ed is going to have to lean extra far out the window to see the front engine of the 4014. Maybe he will hit his head on the tunnel portal at Hermosa. Ha!
The hell with steam train watching if the authorites will be such jerks and egomaniacs.
I mean, what's the point of a public relations special if the public is shut out?

This "stuff" just isn't any fun anymore. I think I'll just buy the videos.
Have fun, be safe,
