In my circle there are railfans and railroaders and railroader/fans. We all seem to get along just fine without this type of bitterness/jealousy expressed here. This is why many railroaders keep their interests somewhat hidden. Too many rails have encountered nutty fans and assume they are all the same.
No offense to the owner of this forum that provides a great free service for us all but I am starting to think a moderated and registered board might be the place to go. The disrespect and troll ratio here is getting pretty high lately. I'd be in favor of a small fee and registration required here to keep this place what it can be at it's best. I'd be all for volunteer moderators that have a large DELETE button even if it led to the occasional hurt feelings.
A 40+ railroader that has learned a lot from other railroaders here and non rails alike. (Howard, Steve to name just two.)
