Usually, 100% low floor vehicles are articulated, and operate as single units (for example, the VBZ Cobra consists of 5 elements, giving a total length of 35 m. The never built Anaconda was supposed to have 7 elements, and therefore would have been 49 m long).
OTOH, there are some operators of Alstom Citadis, who run them in doubles.
Düsseldorf has a network with long distance lines, and they do/did run Combinos on those lines. They do have a version with a small bogie under the cab section (not standard Combino), and I remember a trip from Krefeld to Düsseldorf, which was the sheer horror, as at about 50 km/h, that non-standard bogie started to hunt like crazy…
