SMART is poorly conceived; they certainly made the wrong modal choice - doodlebugs are not suitable for the GG Bridge. Speeds thru RoPo are too high for the street conditions.

After the SMART extension to the north side of Sir Francis Drake is completed we'll see what increase in passengers ensues. I really don't have a clue. But both the GGT ferries and SMART require a large subsidy, along the lines of the much complained about VTA. Both the ferries and SMART are manpower and payroll intensive.

Vote no on both SMART and BART taxes. Both need to be rethought and reconstituted.
