More "Amtrak" investment in short distance corridors?
Really? Yeah, right....
Because, all of these "short distance" corridors they are claiming as the "new way forward", like LOSSAN, San Joaquin's, and Capitols were neglected "orphans" at Amtrak for the last 40 years of my career, and were entirely the products of our own political initiative and 95% from our "local" funding in CA...
And, during most of that time, it was my experience that Amtrak's leadership in Philadelphia couldn't have given a "rats a$$" about these very successful State corridors...
Except, of course, for charging these States a "bloated" fully allocated (as opposed to actual "marginal cost") overhead rate, to generate income, to defray their "bloated" overhead costs, to pay for that army of useless drones, they employed at HQ back in Philly...
