Expect crowds. Like, expect more railfans than you've ever seen in that area before. Do not expect to be able to follow it from Cima to Kelso.

One approach would be to pick one spot between LV and Primm. Then get on I15, but don't get off to go to Nipton. (Expect that road to be rather crowded.) Instead, go over Mountain Pass, and get off at Cima Road. Take that to Cima. See it somewhere there, then back to I15, and go to Afton.

Be safe. It's wonderful to see, but it's not worth dying for.
