Thank you for the suggestions. One person on another site suggested I chase the day before it gets to Las Vegas, less crowds and better ??? access?? Yes, best to be safe. I don't really expect to take THE shot of the engine/train, I mostly want to see, hear,& feel the "Dinosaur" go by. If it doesn't come to Sacramento area next year, I don't want to be thinking, "I COULD have seen it."
