I'll hold off judgement until next year... I can see that if it's having issues, they want to make the grand 150th tour with it, even if it has to get pushed around. After some layup time, if it doesn't go out next year with a big consist and obviously demonstrate that it's pulling for all it's worth (which any video clearly shows it isn't right now) then No, it was not a good trade off. 3985 was a brute. 4014 appears to be an expensive heavy tea kettle.
