History of the Tunnel

That tunnel was originally a double-wide for dual-tracks. In fact they kept the NWP 2472 there for years to keep it out of the rain. I know because I saw it from 101 you could see it just from the freeway if you pulled off on the shoulder. Had to get out of your car and hike the hill a bit to see it. It was there, in the tunnel, on a storage track.

The Cal Northern Green and White came down and removed it later. This was early 90's I think. Saw it all from the freeway. I was the one who said they should restore it. People who had the time on their hands to do the work followed my lead and now the 2472 will soon be in Larkspur again.
