One of the things I read concerning this event was that they were planning on going to Truckee on foot, skis, or whatever. From Soda Springs to Truckee? In a blizzard with white out conditions? If, indeed, that report is true they were about 40 cards short of a full deck.

It just never ceases to amaze me what people get themselves into whether from inexperience or out right stupidity.
