Railex/Cold Connect original pair of facilities were Wallula, WA and Rooterdam, NY. This train seemed to have picked up the nickname "Super Fruit”. Then Delano, CA was added being nicknamed the ”Salad Shooter”. The two trains were timed to combine in Green River, WY and operated as a single train east from there. The cars were assigned and there was a little bit of backhaul but I don't think it was a dedicated train. The trains were blocked into ”waves” depending on their priority for unloading. For a short time, Railex operated a facility near Jacksonville off the FEC so somewhere east of Green River the trains split for FL and NY.

I've only heard Tiger Cool being interested in Wallula. I don't know if they plan on any other facilities for origin or distribution.

There's actually quite a bit of freezer warehouse transload in the region. Port of Morrow in Boardman operates a perishable transload for either non-rail or BNSF customers looking for UP service. I believe another company offers a similar service in the Tri-Cities for BNSF destinations.

Railroads as a profession is far different than as a hobby. Railroad reality is often far different than the perspective of the average person or foamer.
