The "Pigeon Farm", was located at the " bottom end " ( South end compass - Timetable East End ) of Taylor Yard, West of where Dayton Ave.Tower would later be located. The actual Pigeon Farm was destroyed in a flood in 1912, before the Los Angeles River was channeled & lined with concrete. Espee had a timetable location of Squab located here for a while. In more recent times, the term Pigeon Farm referred to a certain track within the Dayton Ave interlocking.
Regarding the term " Links", my buddy Will Walters, an Espee fan, sez it referred to certain tracks within Bullring Yard. Not to be confused with Midway Yard, which was the little yard below Elyasian Heights between Bullring & Dayton Ave Tower on the West side of the river.
Regarding the photo, I took several similar shots of stored Espee power at Aurant Yard in Alhambra in the mid - 1980's, and currently possess a numberboard from U - 33 - C class unit # 8600.
BTW, several good shots of Bullring Yard are in the 1980's movie " To Live & Die in L.A. "
