William travels from Vancouver to Tijuana on public transit - segment 2

Yes, most of his trip so far has been on buses. For some reason, he's avoiding Amtrak (ummm ... check the fares if you want A reason). But he made it from Vancouver to San Jose, so the rest of the trip should be easy, right?

Avoiding Amtrak in California at least might be a mistake. Amtrak California's mix of buses and trains makes it fairly easy to travel between the Bay Area (even the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys) and SoCal. He's apparently planning to use Metrolink and Coaster in the next segment, so trains (and urban rail transit) are not entirely off the table.
