Pacing doesn't have to be a mad race. With some advance planning, you can get your shots and still drive legally and safe.

As an example, after seeing the schedule, I planned two photo locations. The first was Hood River and the second was Maryhill. Since there was a service stop in Wishram, I had plenty of time to head up 84, cross the river and get set up for the second shot. The result was pretty nice:

I didn't get hundreds of photos Friday, but I also didn't have to worry about wrecks or speeding tickets or stressing out trying to pass 14 cars at once. Nobody is complaining about my driving, and it was a relaxed and enjoyable day.

So it can be done, if you chose to do it.
