My schedule last Friday didn't allow for chasing, so I opted for a location I had used before to shoot the 4449 -- the SE 164th Ave. grade crossing in the Fisher's Landing area of Vancouver, Wash. I got there about 45 minutes early to get a good shooting angle, and encountered just a few other railfans who had also selected the location for its relative remoteness.

Not only did we have good sight lines of the Fallbridge Sub, we could hear the train whistling for the grade crossings to the west. We had just one car come speeding in just before the train arrived, and the driver was responsible enough to slow down and back in next to the other parked cars before unloading.
