Bruce, I'm not sure which rig you are driving these days, but I'm thinking you also walked to the top of the ridge for the shot of the train coming through the Granite Rock Cut. I walked in to a place near the tracks there as well. I knew about the Sandpoint Parade and detour in advanced, and had thought about starting my chase north of Sandpoint. But I opted for the Granite photo instead and started my chase there. I caught up to the train at the long bridge, and was stuck in the resulting traffic jam. But to avoid the Sandpoint traffic jam, I made a left turn where the Highway makes a hard right heading into downtown. From there I drove around the backside of town and out to the Mount Schwitzer Road before coming back to the highway. It still took time to make the wider detour, and I was only at Samuels when the special was leaving the east switch at Elmira. I caught the train meet at Naples and then went for the Golf Course photo.
