The first five Muni double-enders (1001-1005) were not PCC's - the city charter forbade Muni from paying royalties to use the PCC technology. The Market Street Railway website has some details about this.

The 1007 is a PCC which is painted to commemorate the first five streamliners.

The only survivor of that class is Muni 1003 at WRM.
