For anyone interested, Pickering Lbr. Corp. 3T Heisler #1 was last used for actual logging in 1955, from April through November 13th. Her Monthly Locomotive Inspection and Repair Report does not reflect the Spring, 1956 testing after the Winter shopping.
The logging seasons of 1956 and 1957 did see some use of 3T Heislers 5 & 10, but they all were done after the October 1957 excursion with the #5 to Ralph. Heisler #1 was retired on November 30, 1957 as she had been sold to Frank Fuller of Jackson, CA. Sister #2 was donated to Travel Town in LA, while the 1, 5, 10 and Shay 12 went to Connell Bros. Trucking yard in Stockton.
As an aside, I have seen a color photo taken from the cab of Heisler #10 as she worked across the top of Beardsley Dam in the summer of '57, a rare outing at that late date.
