I made my first trip to Standard around '57 on a trip with my Dad, but wasn't really into
trains at that time.
Went again in June of '64 after graduating from HS. Shays 7, 8, 11 and 33 were all outside
the machine shop. 7, 8 and 11 all had the SS jackets.
The 7 and 33 were out at Lyons Dam during the PLA '71 Labor Day Steam Spectacular, but were
returned to Standard, but in a different location than before. The 8 had long departed for
Oregon, first to Banks where it was steamed at least once and operated in the yd there.
To answer your question Rich, I know the 8 & 11 were off the property then and if you saw
a Shay in '72 with a SS jacket, then it had to be the 7. Hope this helps.
