David,
You do a great job. This is a great board. The open nature is a plus. A few people do, sometimes use it for too much personal venting, in this case to vent about their issues with another site. For the most part, most of the folks on here, ask good questions, get a good set of answers, and are a very likable and positive online community for the most part.
The photo section has motivated me lately to figure out how my new digital camera works, and I'm trying out some software to do black and white images of things like my collection of 3751 and Amtrak shots on the Coast. The photo section of the news section has been a real plus..... and an inspiration.
Progress reports on NWP, the latest information on the opportunities to view steam like 4449 or other specials, insights into operations, history, and even obsure equipment like whitcomb locomotives can be found nowhere else. I know several professional's who bookmark this site because is is one of the best on-line daily news article sources about railroading.
Even the controversial issues about railroading are generally handled with knowledgeable input, rational and well founded critiques, and positive civil discourse. It's a complex world and there are few easy answers on the complex issues railroads, railroaders, rail users, or the railfan community have to deal with, but this site contributes lots of information to those important discussions, too.
Keep up the hard work, it is worth it, and we really do appreciate it.
Thanks.....
