Perhaps Appendage should have his historic vision checked. In a period of 5.2 months of train operation, with about 92 actual operating days (no holiday or weekend service), NWPY handled 295 carloads, The traffic mix was 152 grain carloads, 137 TTX cars for dismantling, 5 forest product carloads and 1 carload of machinery for total freight revenue of almost $100,000. That performance was earned before the service could be extended to the largest shippers on the railroad at Windsor, Standard Structure and Mead-Clark (which at the time was still located at Windsor). Also, for the most part, trains ran to Schellville only when CFNR had cars to deliver to the NWPY. However, regardless of the 2001 data relied upon, using volumes from 2001 to try to forecast business in 2010 is like what the NAVY calls "steering by your own wake" -- a sure way to run aground.
