As mentioned in an earlier post about NWP traffic, the Nichols Turkey Farm at Vineburg was a CFNR customer on UP-owned trackage and did not receive any freight service after 1998 (again, CFNR had to use trackage rights on the NWP between Lombard and Schellville to access this short isolated branch). The figure of about 300 carloads handled by the CFNR between February and September 2001 is correct. None of the cars from the NWPY were trapped after the September 2001 shutdown. All revenue cars and the engines were interchanged to the CFNR and the TTX flats were dragged to Schellville where Skip Gibbs could access them for trucking to Redwood Valley to be converted to bridge structures.
