When I read the PD article, I noted that
three environmental organizations stated in the press
that they'll likely sue the NCRA once it certifies its
EIR.
The Novato lawsuit took over a year to resolve and that
was a relatively simple case. The City settled when John Williams
agreed to front $300,000 to the city on behalf of the NCRA.
(plus agreeing to provide funding for noise/light mitigations).
Will he do this again?
I'm only guessing, but I think that a lot of time in court is going
to precede the start up of freight operations and that's only
if JW is willing to write a check for what looks to be a very long
and expensive legal fight, with an outcome that is far from certain.
